Terms of Service
These are the ground rules for using Guardia, in plain language. By using it, you agree to them.
What Guardia is
Guardia is a tool that gives you a second opinion on whether a message might be a scam. It's an early prototype, and it may change, have outages, or stop working without notice.
A second opinion, not a guarantee
Guardia uses AI, and AI makes mistakes. It can call a scam “safe”, call a real message “risky”, or say it isn't sure. Please don't rely on it alone, especially before sending money or sharing personal information. When in doubt, contact the organization using a phone number or website you already trust.
Guardia doesn't give legal, financial or professional advice. You're responsible for the decisions you make. To the extent the law allows, Guardia and its creators aren't liable for losses that come from relying on a result.
Information from other sources
Some of what Guardia tells you comes from third parties: public lists of websites reported as dangerous, phone numbers that people reported to the US Federal Trade Commission, Google's link checking, and advice published by US government agencies. These come from other organizations, not from Guardia. They are unverified reports, and they can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. A website being on a list, or a number having been reported, doesn't prove anything by itself, and a website or number being absent from every list doesn't mean it's safe.
Guardia doesn't guarantee that any of this information is accurate or current, and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by the organizations it comes from. Credits are on How Guardia works.
Using Guardia
- Only check messages and screenshots you have a right to share, and leave out sensitive details such as card numbers, passwords and ID numbers. Crop screenshots to hide anything private. See the Privacy Policy for why.
- Don't use scripts or automated tools to send checks, and don't try to overload, break or misuse the service. Checks are limited per person to keep it available for everyone.
- Don't try to trick the analysis into giving a particular answer.
Your content
What you submit stays yours. By submitting it, you allow Guardia to send it to the Google services that analyze it and look up its web addresses, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms as Guardia changes. The date below shows when they were last updated, and continuing to use Guardia means you accept the current version.
